Beating the heat

Today, we had taken off work and planned to take Eleanor to the state fair but with the heat like it was today, we decided against it.  so instead, we took her to the children's museum.  There was a Dora exhibit there and lots of other fun stuff.  she had lots of fun!

After the museum, we went to mom and dad's favorite restaurant since we were in St Paul.  (La Cucaracha's)  yummy!

Then we went to Izzy's for some delicious ice cream.  Eleanor couldn't even handle sitting outside to eat ice cream for 10 minutes so there's no way she would have made it at the fair! lol

on the way home she napped.  Have to say it was a pretty good day!

Hard to believe August is more than 1/2 over already!  it is flying by!  mostly because I have been working a lot with us implementing a new computer system at work.  finally, I am enjoying a stretch off and getting some things done around the house.

We managed to do a few things as a family this month.  We went to the Heatwol tractor thing ( forgive me for not knowing what it is called or how to spell it)  both kids liked the tractors and the trailer ride, though I got a little motion sick, lol.

Saturday, we went to prior lake for a picnic with my mom and her husbands extended family, complete with park and paddle boat rides.  We had fun but I forgot how much work that is!
Saturday night,  Seth's parents watched the kids so we could help some friends celebrate getting married with a bonfire.

Sunday, we went to the McLeod county fair.  Eleanor's favorite thing was the rides.  and Ben's was either the lawnmowers or the boy scouts car racing station.

and tonight we enjoyed a summer evening with some treats from the ice cream truck.  Ben was pretty excited about his sponge bob treat and Eleanor's hello kitty.
