Ready to go BACK

well, for those of you who haven't heard, I hurt my back last week helping carry a shelf upstairs. just a strain, but I haven't been able to work for the last week. today was the first day that I was walking normal and able to lift eleanor comfortably without taking any pills. I go back to the dr. Monday and hopefully go back to work for one day and then thursday we go on vacation!

we are looking forward to a long weekend in Illinois visiting my sister and her family and some very good friends.

Eleanor is getting soo big! cruising around the furniture, trying to climb on things, using her push walker all over, blowing kisses (selectively), pointing to her nose on cue, done with bottles for a while now, and throwing tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants!

Rainbow Connection

I sort of themed the food for the party Rainbow. Em suggested I should blog about it so here's a few pics of things. I did a rainbow jello ( you just mix the jello and 1 cup hot water and 1 cup icecream for each layer and then let it set before doing the next layer), a big rainbow cake for everyone and a personal rainbow cake for Eleanor. I also did rainbow cupcakes for daycare on friday. all in all I was pleased with the way things turned out!

Happy Birthday!

Wow! what a wonderful year this has been!.... hard to believe it's been that long already! Eleanor turned one on friday and we had a party for her on saturday. She was a little overwhelmed, but all in all, it went spectacularly. We spent some time outside and went swimming in the kiddie pool, played with all of our new toys and all the guests and ate lots of good food! Thank you to everyone
who came and for all the presents and the help! Eleanor wasn't too into opening the presents... so thank you to cousin Ollie for unwrapping them all!

she is getting soo big! she is walking with her "walker" and has taken an interest in cars. she also has formed an attachment to her plastic telephone that auntie em got her for christmas. She has her one year appointment next week and I will try to be good about posting the stats.

4th of July

Hope everyone had a good weekend! not too much celebrating, here! Seth and I both worked all weekend and Emily was kind enough to watch Eleanor for us. Friday we went out to Kate and Kevin's and grilled with the Brecht gang then saturday Eleanor went back and stayed til monday morning. (See Em's blog for details)

Monday, understandably, Eleanor was a little out of sorts. also, she's coming down with a little cold. she was sure happy to be home though.

now we are just gearing up for her birthday! can't believe it's been a year!
